Naval Biographical Database Places
	Generally, this is a straightforward entry area, and it is easy to note, for example, that a ship was wrecked on Start Point in Devon.  However, sooner or later it will be important to interrogate the database for, say, ship losses in the Channel - requiring the designation of sea (and/or command) areas.  I have yet to find definitions with suitable authority to provide a realistic solution. In the longer term, when collecting operational data, it may be desirable to record ship latitude and longitude to tie ship employment to specific operational commanders, sea areas and events.   © CHD 2010
